Service Description

This Health and Safety Training and Orientation workshop provides Bright from the Start required health and safety research based training; priceless information and multi-sensory learning opportunities for educators. Participants will gain a broad overview of the National Health and Safety Standards which promote the well being of children in educational environments: injury prevention (e.g. emergency management, playground safety, fire hazards, transportation guidelines, SIDS, and more); exclusion guidelines for common childhood illnesses (i.e. asthma and allergies) and infectious diseases including MRSA and viruses (e.g. ZIKA, the H1N1 virus-swine flu); universal precautions; medication administration guidelines; new USDA nutrition guidelines; and guidelines for identifying risk factors and clues which indicate child maltreatment, prevention strategies and reporting procedures. One week deadline for completion.
