Compliance with state regulations regarding the CCDF Health and Safety Orientation Training is required for any provider serving children receiving CCDF subsidies. In addition, GA DECAL also requires all licensed and exempt providers to take the Health and Safety Orientation.

Dr. Penn has facilitated this training since 2005, leading thousands of school leaders and early educators to maximize each student's postential. The Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG, also known as Child Care Development Fund, or CCDF) Reauthorization requires early childhood educators caring for children and youth to complete a basic health and safety training covering ten specific health and safety-related topics. This workshop provides ten hours of Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning: Bright from the Start approved health and safety training. Participants will gain a broad view of the National Health and Safety Standards which promote the well being of children in educational settings. The primary text referenced in this workshop is Caring for Our Children - National Health and Safety Performance Standards: Guidelines for Out-of-Home Child Care Programs.
